Jenny Tonks is a professional genealogist, accredited by the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists. She has a bachelor of arts degree in Italian Family History from Brigham Young University and is the owner of Genevera GR.

Before founding Genevera, Tonks worked as an archivist intern at the Archivio di Stato in Naples Italy, then as an Italian Instructor at the Brigham Young University MTC. While in college, she was a research assistant to Dr. George Ryskamp and vice president of the university's Italian Club. Tonks later worked as an Acquisition Genealogist at Ancestry.com and published a database of 19th century Italian birth records on the Ancestry site. She also taught online Italian research classes for MyFamily.com and delivered lectures on Italian research at the National POINT conference and the BYU-Idaho Family History conference.

Tonks' experiences with Italy date back to infancy, when her father was stationed at the U.S. naval base in Naples.  Though originally from New England, Tonks has lived in northern Italy, Naples, and New York; she now runs GGR from from its headquarters in the beautiful Grand Teton--Yellowstone region of Idaho.  Through GGR, Italian Americans may contact Tonks to learn more about their Italian ancestors.
